How generative search engines misrepresent Plausible Analytics (Privacy-first web analytics, plausible.io), the entity-level gaps causing it, and the exact schema and endpoint fixes that correct the record.
Plausible has the strongest raw entity salience of any bootstrapped analytics tool: ChatGPT Search names it as a default GA4 alternative and Perplexity surfaces it in nearly every privacy-first comparison.
The problem is temporal, not topical. Synthesis layers repeatedly cite the 2021 to 2023 limitation set: no funnels, pageview-only goals, blog-only positioning. Those limits were shipped away years ago, but third-party review content froze them into the entity embeddings.
Claude is the worst offender. It describes Plausible as suitable for blogs while describing Fathom as suitable for SaaS, a distinction that no longer exists in the product but persists because competitor comparison pages keep restating it.
